Northwich Town Council Installs 27th 24-Hour Accessible Defibrillator

Northwich Town Council is proud to announce the installation of a new 24-hour accessible defibrillator (AED), now available to the public, it is located on the Rose Meadow Estate at 48 Artisan Way.

The defibrillator is housed in a secure, weatherproof cabinet and can be accessed at any time of day or night, providing vital support in the event of a cardiac emergency. By making the AED publicly accessible, Northwich Town Council aims to improve community safety and potentially save lives.

The project was made possible through the support of Bellway Estates, CWAC and NTC Cllr Rachel Waterman (members budget) and Northwich Rotary Club.

Northwich Town Mayor, Cllr Julie Macdonald said:
“Every minute counts when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. Having this life-saving equipment available 24/7 means that anyone in our community has the chance to make a real difference before emergency services arrive.”

CWaC and Northwich Town Councillor Rachel Waterman said:
“The Cheshire West and Chester Members budget allowances allow councillors to support hyper local projects in their wards and so contributing to the purchase of this AED for Rose Meadow is exactly the kind of project that I want to use mine for. I also want to thank Northwich Rotary, Bellway Estates and Northwich Town Council for their collaborative support. AED’s are incredibly important to have situated around our town as they literally save lives in moments when every second counts and ensure that help is close by, even before the emergency services arrive.
AED’s becoming more common place in our town also raises awareness about heart health and encourage people to learn basic life-saving skills like CPR. The fact that we now have 27 publicly accessible AED’s in our town, supported by Northwich Town Council, should be very reassuring to everyone.”

How it works:

  • In an emergency, dial 999 (or your local emergency number).
  • The operator will direct you to the nearest AED and provide the access code for the cabinet.
  • The device gives clear voice instructions to guide the user step by step.

Northwich Town Council encourages everyone in the community to take note of the AED location’s and consider attending a basic CPR and defibrillator awareness session.
