Northwich Town Council and the Lion Salt Works have come together to offer a wonderful opportunity for the children of Northwich. As part of the ‘Salt and Local Parks and Gardens’ exhibition, a competition has been launched for children to design their very own flower bed with the winning design being transformed into a real flower bed and showcased in one of Northwich’s beautiful parks in 2024.
This competition is not only a fantastic opportunity for children to get creative and let their imaginations run wild, but it also gives them the chance to learn about the fascinating connection between Northwich Salt and Gardens. The Lion Salt Works is the perfect location for this exhibition, as it has a rich and diverse history, with over 200 years of salt making.
Northwich Town Council is committed to ensuring that its parks and gardens are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly, and this competition is a great way to encourage children to think about the importance of maintaining our natural environment. The winning design will be a testament to the children’s creativity and innovation, and it will undoubtedly inspire others to take an interest in the natural world around us.
The competition is open until 30th October, so there is still time for children to get involved and create their very own unique designs. Who knows, we may even have a future horticulturalist or landscape architect amongst us!
